After the critical acclaim of their debut release, The Angst In My Veins, the anticipation for post hardcore outfit Capsizes’ sophomore album was at an all time high for the band. That anticipation has grown since the announcement of A Reintroduction: The Essence of All That Surrounds Me and its accompanying first single, “XX (Sew My Eyes)” in late May.

Written in mind with the idea of wanting to move on from a moment, person or cycle in life, “XX (Sew My Eyes)” encompasses the idea lyrically and instrumentally bringing a melting pot of chaotic, hardcore riffs with huge, melodic choruses. Vocalist Daniel Wand exhibits his range with frantic screams and soaring, catchy singing. The band even adds some extra zest with some background choral vocals that accompany Wand’s singing making the track even more memorable.

If “XX (Sew My Eyes) is any indication of where their sound is headed, then A Reintroduction: The Essence of All That Surrounds Me is going to be a surefire hit with fans both new and old.
