With a juggernaut of a rhythm section comprised of John Godly on drums and bassist Liam Quinn, and perfectly complimented by Henry Gottelier’s pounding guitar and anthemic vocal lines, Saltlake are a diverse trio who deliver highly energetic live performances and express a sound that is rooted in rock, but has a unique freshness that is both captivating and all consuming.
The Brit tunesmiths have been making waves on the scene for only a short time, but it was last year’s new EP, Medicate Me, that placed the up-and-comers on the map. The release was widely lauded by Alex Baker at Kerrang! Radio, with the EP’s lead track, “Badlands” racking multiple plays and unequivocal support.
The threesome shift gears once more with the release of their current single, “Dreaming In The Dark”. The track is a calling for all rock fans with its swirling and hypnotic groove framed by a thunderous refrain that will leave you pining for more. Vocalist and guitarist, Henry Gottelier, elaborates “‘Dreaming In The Dark’ is an anthemic, atmospheric love song to the city of London after dark, inspired by growing up outside the city with the night sky glowing and its skyline peeking through the trees in the distance. The song came together really quickly. We tried to create something big and catchy but also wanted to capture a dreamy, euphoric element to the verses of the track.”
