“If you want to keep a secret, you must also hide it from yourself” – George Orwell, 1984. Turning a blind eye makes it easier to believe one’s own lie and keeping a big secret from your partner is the beginning of an irrefutable path to destruction. Trust is the basis of a relationship and when that trust comes in to question, things can go south very quickly.
The Afterimage’s new single “Secrets,” is about a man on a quest for a truth he is unable to find in a partner who is stuck in their own lies. “You’ve convinced yourself, conforming your own thoughts. Relaying images that have never been seen,” screams vocalist, Kyle Anderson. The track hits hard and fast with his furious, roaring screams, complimenting his commanding cleans. Instrumentally, the song demonstrates that the guitar players have mastered their craft. Technical riffs are carried into a shredding guitar solo that gracefully transitions into the final chorus. The Afterimage’s debut full-length album, Eve, will be released on May 18th.
