Upstate New York’s own Hollow Bones have released the music video for their song “Collapse”, a savage metallic toned hardcore track with a strong melodic refrain. This is actually the second part of a two-song/video cycle that deals with the inner turmoil of someone suffering from mental illness and the effects on those who around them. Directed by Paul Robinson and Sashia Dumont the videos portray Hollow Bones vocalist Patrick Anthony and Sharon Malfesi (guitar/melodic vocals) as two people whose illnesses intertwine.
The band also wanted to release the following statement: This video may contain images that some people find distressing or disturbing. The purpose of said images are not for shock value, but to make people unfamiliar with self-harm aware of how horrible it can be for both the person involved, and the people around them. Hollow Bones are strong proponents of mental illness awareness and we strongly encourage those suffering to get help, and to reach out to those that love. If you are in danger of hurting yourself or are having suicidal thoughts, please call 1 800-273-8255 immediately. Always tell the people you love how much they mean to you, as we are not guaranteed a second chance.
