New York melodic hardcore/metalcore band Hollow Bones have premiered their new song, “Balance”, which balances the savage metallic toned hardcore sound the band is known for with a strong melodic refrain. The song itself reflects the inner turmoil of someone suffering from mental illness.
Vocalist Patrick Anthony says of the song “it’s about trying to love someone with mental illness. Obviously mental illness takes a horrible toll on those suffering from it but it also takes a significant toll on those who care about the victim.” “Balance” is part of a two-song digital single dropping in early October. The second song “Collapse” is thematically linked to “Balance” as well.
The band also wanted to release the following statement. Hollow Bones are strong proponents of mental illness awareness and we strongly encourage those suffering to get help, and to reach out to those they love. If you are in danger of hurting yourself or are having suicidal thoughts, please call 1 800-273-8255 immediately. Always tell the people you love how much they mean to you, as we are not guaranteed a second chance.
