Backwards Dancer Joining Say Anything On “In Defense…” 10 Year Anniversary Tour

Backwards Dancer have announced that they’ll be joining Say Anything on tour this Fall as the seminal emotive post-punk act celebrates the 10th anniversary of their pivotal 2007 double album In Defense Of The Genre. This tour will mark the first extended run of dates for Backwards Dancer since wrapping their spring tour with Eisley and Civilian in support of their self-titled full length which was released this past March on Rory Records; an imprint of Equal Vision Records run by Max Bemis of Say Anything.

This tour is particularly special for the guys in Backwards Dancer as Max Bemis is not only the man who signed them to Rory Records but an important influence on who they are as songwriters.

Lead singer, Zack Shaw puts it best:

I’m beyond excited for the In Defense tour. In Defense in particular has been like a friend of mine since it was released so it’s surreal to be able to accompany Max and the band on tour. Working and building a relationship with Max over the last couple years has been incredible and something I’ll always be grateful for. We love him to pieces. When they released that record Max was my age and it has never resonated so much as it does now. Such an important and special record to me and honestly can’t wait to sing along every night!
