One of Perth’s most loved punk rawk rapscallions Scalphunter have announced their debut album Lies will be out September 29th via Arrest Records/Firestarter — with a few special launch shows to boot. With a blistering live show and a unique ability to steal the hearts of all music fans, they’ve finally channelled their infamous live ferociousness into an ear-melting 10-tracks, which the first new taste was premiered Wednesday night on triple j’s Short.Fast.Loud.
Playing punk rock hard and fast with smatterings of thrash, hardcore and metal, ‘Lies‘ is an album soaked with blood, sweat and pure adrenalin. Recorded at Electric City Studios with Adam Round (Voyager, Tame Impala), ‘Lies’ captures why they’ve impressed the pants off acts they’ve played with, including Dwarves, D.R.I., The Misfits, High On Fire and Clowns (Stevie Williams features on album track ‘Don’t Look Down’).
Lies is also a timely attack on current social, political and cultural injustices, taking no prisoners as it calls for change whilst giving hope to the disenfranchised generation that has had enough of being lied to. It’s an aggressive onslaught that demands your max attention – and your stereo turned to max.
