Hailing from California, Old Notes are a band with a sound beyond their years as an act. Lying somewhere between ambient rock with twinges of pop punk instrumentals and emo on the musical spectrum, the music they craft has an aura and maturity to it that many would not expect from such a young act. That’s why it’s our pleasure to introduce a new wave of listeners to the band as we bring you the premiere of their new single, “Rocco”. If you like what you heard, you can check out their previous release, Former Self, here.
The song itself is a direct reflection upon the tragic loss of a pet, which is the message throughout “Rocco” and transcends and encompasses the pain of all loss. It echoes sentiments of the past, while still emphasizing lessons learned and showcases the bands growth and sonic refinement with its highly relatable and emotional lyrics, coupled with the wailing, trance-like instrumentals, provoke self-reflection and impart a lasting sense of hope for what’s to come.
Rocco is a song of loss and pain. Derived from losing a lifelong pet to a tragic accident, the lyrics encompass the anguished experience the night it happened. The music will send you on an emotional roller coaster of powerful punches and somber sounds.
You can also catch the band on their recently announced upcoming West Coast tour with Andys Room.
