Ohio post hardcore collective Like Tyrants have released their new single and music video, “Festival”. The single points to a new direction for the Cleveland band who thrive on DIY ethos and punk attitude while taking musical notes from their forefathers in bands like Thrice and Bayside. They’re not a band out to save the scene. They’re here to remind you, in the age of endless digital hustle, that music and physically breaking your back for it is what matters—a theme also explored in the video.
In the video, “hope” is personified as a young musician. Through her story, the viewer witnesses some of the ways the ways hope can be smothered and, ultimately, lost. But it’s not so hopeless. As a twist at the end of the video reveals: redemption is always possible.
