The Northern Gets Glitchy With “Terra” Video

The Northern have premiered their new video for “Terra”, off their Tragic Hero Records debut album Solstice. The song is an important track off the record that focuses on the human interest topic of how technology is slowly taking over.

As shown in the lyrics, “There’s a passion in your heart but you’ve forgot it in your mind. Instead, we plug ourselves into machines, using filters and friend lists as common currency,” the band uses the song to get a strong message across. As explained by Bassist Gordon Campbell, “Terra, translated from Latin as ‘Earth’; is the concept that all things on this planet share a common connection. From the tiniest of insects to plant life, even to humans, the title is meant to be satirical. Written about the false connections humanity has created through technology, we have seemingly become more connected. However, as a result of essentially isolating ourselves, we have lost touch with ourselves, and our planet.”
