Australian alternative pop band Drawing North have premiered their new single, “Stay”, the first release and lead single from their forthcoming new EP due out later this Spring.
The release of “Stay” follows the band’s recent cover of Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You”. The cover song premiered last month with Popsugar, who wrote, “We’d jam out to Ed Sheeran’s version in the car, but this is the mix you’d want on at the club.” Both these recent releases represent a departure for the band, as they take on more electronic and experimental elements than previously heard.
Per the band on “Stay” via Impose:
“‘Stay’ was inspired by the loose, carefree feeling had at a music festival. It’s a story between a pair of people developing a new and exciting feeling for each other surrounded by the sound of music and people in a similar experience—the kind of feeling you just want to stay.”
