Texas metalcore outfit Charcoal Tongue have announced their signing to Spinefarm Records and to celebrate, dropped their new single and video, “Fix Me”.
Charcoal Tongue formed in 2015 after vocalist Chris Mora’s suicide attempt. As a result, the band’s forthcoming, as-yet untitled Spinefarm debut plays out like the journal of a person’s thoughts as they navigate a downward spiral of depression.
“The whole year I spent writing… took me through a lot of different emotions, since I was coming off that experience,” Mora said. “‘Fix Me’ is one of the darker songs on the record. We felt like this track displays a lot of the key elements that make up the Charcoal Tongue sound.”
For the album, the band worked with Josh Schroeder (KING 810, The Color Morale).
