Rebels Without A Claus: Bad Seed Rising Show Review

November 27th, Maryland rock outfit Bad Seed Rising hit the road with guests Hotel Books and Sleepwave for I Prevail’s headlining tour “Rebels Without A Claus”. Aside from being the youngest band to sign to Roadrunner Records, these kids are anything but typical. With extensive touring and releasing numerous EP’s, the quartet has worked restlessly to make their mark in the music industry. Last Friday December 16th, I ventured out to Headliners venue in Toledo, Ohio to see what all the hype was about.


At first glance, they look like just an ordinary group of kids. But with a few instruments in their hands, these guys shatter all expectations of those surrounding them. The band opened fast and hard with “Dexies,” giving the crowd an immediate rush of adrenaline. When it comes to the metal-core/rock scene, the boys tend to outweigh the girls. Front-woman Francheska Pastor doesn’t let that phase her. Friday night she showed off an incredible range of vocals and impressive growls and screams (something not a lot of girls can pull off easily). Bassist Louey Peraza has an endless amount of energy, jumping and shredding all over the stage without even stopping to take a breath. The entire set was filled with heavy riffs from guitarist Mason Gainer and a powerful and steady rush from Aiden Marceron on the drums. Performing some of their popular songs “Fighting Gravity,” “I Can Feel You” and ending with “What Have We Done,” the band kept their energy pouring into the crowd. The band as a whole is a well oiled machine without missing a step throughout their entire set.

 
While most teens are busy dreaming of being a rock-star, Bad Seed Rising is busy working on making their dreams a reality. It’s very apparent that the band has no boundaries. Their drive and passion is something that can’t be missed and will allow these “kids” to climb to the top.
