New Zealand drum & bass collective Shapeshifter have announced their brand new album, Stars, will be out 11/4. To celebrate the announcement, the group have released the video for the album’s lead single and title track, “Stars”.
Hailing from Christchurch, New Zealand, the genre-defying five-piece have already seen success with four platinum selling albums charting at No. 1 in their homeland, alongside multiple hit singles. The upcoming new album follows its highly praised predecessor Delta which was released in 2013. The latter also saw the band earn the accolade of ‘Best Group’ and Best Electronica Album’ at the New Zealand Music Awards.
Now with new album Stars, Shapeshifter look set to cement themselves worldwide as one of most important electronic bands today. The title-track glistens with synths and punchy beats reminiscent to Rudimental, while things are directed into a deeper liquid tip with the rolling ‘Blazer’, which nods to the likes of Nu:Tone or London Elektricity.
